About Lara Mayeux PhD
I’m a developmental psychologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Oklahoma. My expertise is in social and emotional development, particularly peer relationships in childhood and adolescence.
My research focuses on two general areas — aggression (physical, verbal, relational) and peer status (acceptance, rejection, popularity) — and usually has something to say about how the two influence each other.
In addition to conducting research, I teach graduate and undergraduate courses in developmental psychology.
When I’m not torturing students or writing research papers, I enjoy cooking, travel, and spending time with my husband Peter and our two daughters, Lily and Natalie.
